As part of Adult Learners Week, local MP Stephen Williams will visit an employment course later this month.
Taking place from 16th-20th June, the national Adult Learners Week initiative is aimed at getting those aged over 19 back into education and to inspire adults to try something different. This year SGS College has tailored the sessions on offer to focus on employment.
The course, Hired and Inspired, is part of SGS College's highly successful Suited, Booted, Recruited programme. It is a 10 day employability course designed to give people the necessary skills and qualifications needed to help get them back into the world of work.
The MP for Bristol West will visit the course taking place at Orega in the centre of Bristol from 10am-12pm on Friday 20th June. He will be taking part in team building activities with the learners and also undertaking a 'Coping with Change' workshop.
Programme co-ordinator, Louise Slessor comments: "Everyone in the team is really excited to have a local MP coming to see the course and meet our learners. We all work really hard and are very passionate about what we do so to have this kind of recognition is fantastic."
